Easy Remedies To Avoid Corn Removal Surgery

If you think you are in need of corn removal surgery, then it may help to know what exactly they are and that there are many home remedies to cure them.  Corns occur when dead skin cells accumulate around an irritated tissue somewhere on your foot.  It is a callus of dead skin that forms on smooth and hairless skin.  These form when you have a pressure point on your foot that rubs against your shoe.  The center of the corn continues to become widened by more irritation.  If the area continues to be bothered, even after having corn removal surgery the corn can still continue to grow back.

Wearing shoes that fit properly are the most important thing you can do for your feet and allow yourself to be comfortable and without pain.  High heels seem to be required in the worlds of some people.  There is a difference however in wearing a good fitting, high quality high heel shoe, or just another high heel.  The old saying “You get what you pay for” holds true here.  It's not only high heels that are the culprit either; it's also flat and athletic shoes.  Comfortable shoes are the most important part of your wardrobe, especially if you have a job where you're on your feet all day.  Proper fitting shoes can prevent you from having corn removal surgery.

Soak your poor feet!  If they're not too sore, take a pumice stone to them and grind away at all the dead skin.  There are special foot soaks to use or you can make one by mixing boric acid, iodine and bran.  Don't have a pumice stone?  A piece of sandpaper will work too!

If the corns you have are located between your toes than you known how bad these hurt so you probably think you really need to have corn removal surgery right away.  Putting lamb's wool or simple cotton balls between your toes can help alleviate your pain while you work on treating it at home.

Aspirin is a great remedy for getting rid of corns.  If you combine a couple of aspirins with three drops of water and mash it up it will create a healing corn remover solution.  Place the paste you have just created on the corn and cover it with a band-aid and leave on overnight.  Repeat this nightly until the corn completely heals and this will prevent you from having corn removal surgery.

Lemons are not just for lemonade!  If you take a small piece of lemon and attach it to the corn with a band-aid it can cure your corn in a few days.  The combination of acid and vitamin C has healing powers.  Getting the lemon to stay in place overnight is the tricky part here though.

If you're desperate for a quick healer instead of having corn removal surgery then try some castor oil.  Applying it to the corn three times a day will make it harden very quickly so you can slough it away.  This is proven to work in three to four days.

Baking soda and lime is another great combination.  If you take equal parts of baking soda and juice from a freshly squeezed lime and apply it to the corn for around five nights it should do the trick.  The corn will naturally flake away.  It is important to not let the solution sit on the surrounding skin where it is not needed as it can eat away at good skin.

Want another remedy to avoid corn removal surgery?  Try some papaya.  This wonderful fruit has not only natural healing powers but also good sloughing properties.  Apply a small piece on the corn with a band-aid nightly and the corn will fall off after a few days.

Vinegar has such an effect on corns that they can sometimes be pulled out by the root.  Soak a cotton ball in vinegar and attach it to your corn with a band-aid.  It doesn't take much time for this to work.

Still need one more remedy to avoid corn removal surgery?  Good old fashioned chalk!  Crush a piece up into a really fine powder and then mix it with a few drops of water to create a paste.  Applying this to the corn will dissolve it.

Corns can be very painful and can really ruin your day.  There are plenty of alternatives to surgery and corn removal surgery will not always eliminate the problem permanently.  Try a home remedy before you opt for corn removal surgery.
